The storylines to look out for as F1 ACADEMY breaks new ground in Montreal

Date:

Triple the racing action

All the ingredients are there for an exhilarating weekend as, alongside adapting to a new track, the field will have three races to keep them busy.

After Race 2 in Miami was called off due to adverse weather, the final grid from that race is being used to establish the grid for Race 1 on Saturday in Montreal. The second of Saturday’s races will see the grid set by reversing the top eight drivers from Qualifying, whilst the grid for Sunday’s Race 3 will be decided by the drivers’ fastest laps in Qualifying with the driver shown on pole on the final grid receiving two points.

Full Grand Prix points will be on offer in Races 1 and 3, whilst only the top eight drivers will receive points in Race 2, with 10 points going to the winner down to one point for eighth. A point for the fastest lap in each race is still on offer, provided they finish in the top 10 in either Race 1 or 3, or inside the top eight in Race 2.

For some, this will be a chance to build momentum behind their campaign, but for others, they’ll need to shake off a bad result quickly unless they want to experience their own Groundhog Day.
