Older fans of the Forza franchise will recognize Fujimi Kaido. For the younger gamers out there, get ready for one of the coolest long-distance tracks in the entirety of digital racing. At least, we hope it is. We’ll find out in May when the track goes live for Forza Motorsport players.
The last time we saw Fujimi Kaido was in Forza Motorsport 4—14 years and two Xbox consoles ago. Back then, it was a fictional 10.2-mile closed-loop track with over 100 curves, winding through the forested Japanese mountains near Mt. Fuji. If it sounds like the ultimate touge adventure, you’re not wrong. It looked fantastic on the old Xbox 360, and FM4’s physics were simcade enough to make even occasional racers feel like the DK.

According to Forza’s website, the updated track stretches 10.24 miles and incorporates 144 curves, including numerous hairpins. Simdrivers will climb and descend a 2,711-foot summit, during which you’ll experience just a few short straightaways amid the twisties. This course is decidedly aimed at drifting, whether you run it forward or reverse. And judging by the sole teaser image Forza released, it looks promising.
But times have changed since the days of FM4. The latest Forza launched to considerable criticism in 2023, notably due to its frustrating points-based method for upgrading cars, requiring players to turn lap after lap to unlock even basic upgrades. A poor-quality penalty system during racing, glitchy gameplay, and disappointing vehicle physics also hurt the title. And it didn’t help that Forza launched without some notable tracks like the Nürburgring.
But to the credit of Turn 10 Studios, improvements have rolled out on a regular basis. You can now V-12-swap a Subaru as soon as you buy it, and the penalty system isn’t quite as absurd as before. Physics also feel a touch better, so color us optimistic for the return of Fujimi Kaido. With 144 curves in 10.2 miles, our racing cockpits will certainly be rocking.
Fujimi Kaido will be part of Forza’s free update for May. It kicks off the 20th anniversary of the Forza franchise, which will be further celebrated with additional car downloads later this year.
